How can I get Thunderbird to instantly download all new mails from the server - instead of waiting for the standard mechanism of Thunderbird to download new mails?

I am using Thunderbird 115.10.1. I want to send an encrypted email with attachments of different types (pdf, docs, images, zips,...)

And I have confirmed it is working with Edward following this guidance: https://emailselfdefense.fsf.org/en/

But I have tried looking online to check, are the attachments to the email also encrypted?

The Copilot website text field is the only text field I have encouraged where typing text does not get automatically underlined for spelling mistakes. I have the box ticked for 'Check your spelling as you type' in the general settings, and I have tried changing the about:config layout.spellcheckDefault value to 2. Nothing has worked.

The spell checking feature for the Copilot website text field can be enabled, but you have to manually enable it each time by right clicking the text field and making sure "Check Spelling" is ticked. It is quite annoying.

The "Check Spelling" setting on every other text field from every other website like this very text field I'm typing into right here right now for this firefox support forum, has the  "Check Spelling" setting ticked by default.  

Anybody else experiencing this issue?

I have an old Lenovo tablet running Firefox 68.11 in Android Kitkat (4.4)

This device has never synced before, and as you know Mozilla, for reasons known only to themselves, never made a simple bookmark export in the Android app.

My attempts to set up a sync has also failed, access to https://accounts.firefox.com is apparently inaccessible, the page never loads, except for the logo you can see below.

Am I just out of luck?

I recently moved to using Thunderbird for my emails on an iMac running MacOS High Sierra. I am baffled by the number of email erasure/disposal options I was suddenly presented with, namely: 1. A "Trash" folder, with trash bin icon; 2. A "Junk" folder with a flame icon; 3. A "Junk" folder with no icon; 4. A "Junk E-mail" folder with no icon. Confusingly, some of these folders are not provided with an "Empty deleted/junk" option! Can I completely delete folders 3 and 4 (the one without an icon)? And finally, how can I set things up so that the deleted and junk folders are automatically emptied at set intervals?

A few months ago

If I deleted an email or moved it to another folder - on my apple app for any of the accounts that I also have on thunderbird

The changes would sync seamlessly - a few seconds after I deleted or moved an email on my apple iPhone mail app - on my laptop - thunderbird would show the same changes.

The same worked the other way if I deleted or moved an email on thunderbird on my laptop - my iPhone would show the changes in seconds.

However now if I do the same on my iPhone The changes do not show up at all.

BUT if I do the changes on my laptop - they will show on my iPhone. It just doesn’t work if I do the changes on my iPhone.

Is there a reason for this?

I have a xiaomi pad 5 and when I installed a pwa (freshrss, but I've tried with some other sites that allow it) the scrolling becomes sluggish and unresponsive. If I open the site directly in firefox itself it works perfectly, and the same sites installed on my phone also work well (samsung a52s). Firefox in both phone and tablet is the beta version 127.0b1

The Lower Toolbar is quite handy, with for example Roboform.

Unfortunately, the way it's implemented, it comes above the lower part of the browser window, instead of being inserted at the bottom while the browser windows height is reduced.

That hides the search box when you type Control-F.

It would be nice if this could be addressed in a future release. I am using Firefox Developer 127.0b2.

Whenever I close my browser, it will show but when i open a new tab, it is gone and when i check settings, it is unchecked. I tried enabling both Shortcuts and Recent activity but only Recent activity is saved and Shortcuts is not saved.

After reading just a few questions and their answers here I realize that I'm never going to learn everything I need to know to feel comfortable or even enjoy using my desktop computer. As for my cell phone, I've never liked using it and unless someone helps me learn how to use all the available features in Firefox (plus everything else in a smart phone which I call that stupid phone) then I will probably end up throwing it in the garbage and will sit in waiting rooms reading a book or magazine instead of doing whatever it is everyone else is doing on their phones. Most likely they're texting which I just learned how to do a few months ago. I never thought texting was necessary for me to know but now it seems to be the only way my adult children keep in touch these days.

How can I possibly learn everything I can or should do with Firefox? I barely know how to use all the basic features even though I've used Firefox for years. Your updates come so frequently that I will never be able to catch up! Why don't you offer some courses strictly for seniors who need a lot or even just a little bit of guidance when it comes to tackling technological issues? I dislike new technology but we have to use it, don't we? So, make life easier for us older folks and offer a few virtual courses to help us learn what we need to know. Come on Mozilla you can do it. You offer the technology now show us how to use it!

Hi Firefox. I have been using Firefox since the 90's. I love the feature that you can save a url complete with that website name, icon, and colors. My desktop is very colorful. I just did an update on Firefox in the last two days. Lets just call it the last update. After the last update an hour ago I just received a notification that Malwarebytes blocked what the call Malvertising. As I said, I have been using Firefox since the 90's as my default browser and I have never seen this before on any browser. There were an few short periods in the last few months when Firefox would just lock up my pc, and I switched browsers to Chrome. But as soon as you corrected the issue, I switched back to Firefox. I got to admit that this Malvertising notification has disturbed me a little. I have Edge, Chrome, and Opera browsers installed as well but I like you the best. Please explain to my why I got this notification from Malwarebytes. BTY, Malwarebytes found a keylogger in my PC that Eset, and Windows Defender scans did not find. So, I am a fan of Malwarebytes as well. I downloaded the Malwarebytes notification of the Malvertising Notification into .txt format, but the button below this says images. If I can send it, and you want it, just let me know.

Recently, a PDF file/form I have used for several years won't accept keyboard inputs within certain boxes/fields. The PDF is an odometer statement from the Michigan Secretary of State. I am able to complete all fields except for the 6 separate odometer boxes. I can move the cursor to each box but when I go to type a number, nothing shows up. I have used Firefox in the past while completing this PDF form without any problems. I have tried filling in the odometer boxes using various versions of Windows (7, 8.1, and 10) and various versions of Firefox (126, 115, and 109), but none of them will allow me to enter the numbers. As a test, I downloaded Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, and both of those browsers allowed me to fill in the odometer boxes. I've included a link to the PDF form. Hello, I have problems signing in Thunderbird, it asks me for a password and though I am sure I enter the correct one it does not give me access and there is no way to put a new password also so how I am supposed to use Thunderbird again. I can do that with roundcube but Thunderbird does not give me access and to be honest I am a bit frustrated.

When scrolling down through the YouTube home page, the current tab will crash and end up as a small window near the bottom right of the screen with a totally blacked out screen in that small window.

Only solution is to close that little window and open YouTube in a new tab... which will eventually crash the same way.

I have disabled the tracking shield for Youtube.com Problems are even worse with the tracking shield enabled.

These type of problems started with version 125. I hoped things would be resolved with 126 but problems still persist. Other websites have issues as well. Mostly with image displays such as on carfax.com when trying to view photos of cars with their photo scroller widget.

I'm not having these problems with the Edge browser.

I've added https://x.com as an exception site but it is still blocked.

This is outright censorship which is something fascists do.

Tell me how to fix your browser so I may access x.com again or I stop using Firefox forever.
